Doris Ballard, a former member of the Rotary Club of Concord, will present to our club this Tuesday. She
is also a former City Councilor, Executive Director of Concord TV, and a local performer in Concord
Community Players as well as other theaters. She and her husband, Norm, also owned Ballard Novelties
and Ballard’s Ice Cream for nearly 40 years.

Six years ago, Doris decided to follow her passion for writing and performing comedy. With that came,
among other things, the creation of a local school of comedy called “Laughta in New Hampsha,” and the
production of several comedy shows at the Hatbox Theatre in the Steeplegate Mall. Covid stopped
some of these, but Doris turned to writing a book on her years in Catholic school, and recently began
performing in clubs again.
